SoftServe has received the ISO 14001:2015 environmental certification, which confirms that the company complies with international standards in the field of environmental management. This recognition is important both for strengthening a sustainable business that cares about its environmental impact and for working with international clients who also fight climate change.
In 2022, SoftServe announced its environmental strategy and implemented an environmental management system. Its goal is to become a carbon-neutral business by 2032, achieve net zero waste, design sustainable offices, and develop IT solutions that help combat environmental challenges.
In practice, the company has already managed to reduce scope 1 (direct emissions caused by the company’s activities) and scope 2 (indirect emissions from electricity, heat, etc.) carbon emissions by 18.3% and energy consumption by 40% compared to 2020. In addition, six SoftServe offices have already received LEED and BREEAM certifications.
To confirm the compliance of its environmental approaches with international standards and improve them, SoftServe completed an external audit by Bureau Veritas Ukraine, one of the leading auditors globally, and received ISO 14001:2015 certification.
ISO 14001 is an international standard that defines requirements for controlling and monitoring environmental impact. It also provides recommendations on how to improve environmental management, i.e. processes and practices that help reduce environmental impact.
