The Swiss international organization Helvetas presents recommendations for responsible and inclusive strategies in the field of artificial intelligence. The development of this document was carried out in collaboration with the StrategEast and Help organizations.
Through the implementation of the RECONOMY program in the Eastern Partnership countries – Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine – Helvetas is supporting the improvement of digitalization and artificial intelligence strategies, particularly in the areas of coordination mechanisms and data governance.
RECONOMY is a program implemented by Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation in partnership with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). It promotes inclusive and green economic development across the Eastern Partnership and Western Balkan regions.
The developed recommendations address not only government institutions but also the private sector, civil society, and educational institutions. The primary goal is to ensure a more inclusive, ethical, and responsible use of AI technologies in the region. Specifically, this includes the development of policies that promote trust in artificial intelligence and ensure its accessibility for various segments of the population.
In Ukraine, despite the ongoing full-scale war, digitalization continues to advance rapidly. Notably, the country has launched its first Artificial Intelligence Excellence Center, and the dynamic digitalization of public services is enhancing the transparency and accessibility of services for the population.
