Ukrainian energy company KNESS, which specialises in renewable energy and operates across European markets, has completed a large-scale digital integration of its Ukrainian and international divisions. Today, all company processes are managed within a unified ERP system — IT-Enterprise.
The ERP system allows us to see everything — from expenses to team performance — in real time. This enables fast and well-informed managerial decisions. Transformation is an essential part of any business lifecycle. Without internal change, scaling and development would be impossible,
— said Serhii Shakalov, Co-owner and CEO of KNESS.
ITU Member IT-Enterprise has been KNESS’s digital partner for over five years. Since then, the system has been gradually implemented across all areas of the company’s operations. Today, it also covers the company’s international offices, despite differences in legislation and accounting standards across countries.
This case is an example of how Ukrainian technology helps businesses reach the global level. Being KNESS’s digital partner on its path to international expansion is a great responsibility and recognition of our expertise. We see how systematic digital transformation empowers Ukrainian companies to confidently compete in the global market,
— said Oleh Shcherbatenko, Founder and CEO of IT-Enterprise.
Until 2019, some of KNESS’s processes were still handled in Excel and various standalone programs, which made it difficult to access real-time data on the company’s status. Back in 2014, KNESS had already abandoned 1C — software with russian roots — and began implementing the Ukrainian ERP system IT-Enterprise.
The transition was challenging. It required changing workflows, migrating large volumes of data, and operating in two systems simultaneously for a time. As a result, the company gained a unified digital ecosystem for finance, production, logistics, document management, and analytics — enabling scalable growth without chaos.
Thanks to the IT-Enterprise ERP, all financial operations at KNESS now pass through a single digital system — from payment requests to final execution. The system automatically verifies the data against the budget, approves it, and only then initiates the payment. This has freed the team from routine checks, approvals, and paperwork, allowing them to focus on growing the business.
Moreover, all key processes — finance, inventory, manufacturing, and document flow — are consolidated in a single mobile application. Management has a real-time, comprehensive view of operations and can respond quickly to changes, avoid chaos, and scale the business — even during periods of crisis.
Results of International Expansion
In just a few years, KNESS’s international divisions have built nearly 150 MW of solar power plants, with approximately 100 MW currently under development. The company plans to expand into new European markets, with full control and transparency of business processes through a single digital system.
