Part of the corporate social responsibility strategy of Miratech is support for the development of IT education. For many years, the company has been supporting students of technical universities seeking to pursue a career in the IT industry. And this year was no exception - the spring of 2018 was filled with a number of student events supported by Miratech.
On April 19th, Physical Mathematical Department of National Technical University “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI) of Igor Sikorsky” held the Annual XVI International Scientific-Practical students conference in Kyiv devoted to the 120th anniversary of the university. Miratech representatives were members of the judging panel selecting the best scientific work and presentation. As a master class for the beginner presenters, Alexey Perekatov, Doctor of Sciences in Physics and Mathematics and Miratech’s VP, Corporate Marketing, delivered the animated presentation “Join IT. Where are vacancies available for KPI graduates?” The presentation induced a lot of positive feedback from all participants, both students and teachers.
"We are very interested in the international IT-community support that enables our graduates to find jobs fast. In addition to the current cooperation, we always look forward to the presentations of Miratech representatives at our conferences. Interesting and informative, they bring a real practical component to the theoretical knowledge of our students and post-graduates, and allow us to orient ourselves in choosing the most promising fields", – said Lilia Ponomarenko, Doctor of Sciences in Physics and Mathematics, Professor, co-chairman of the organizing committee of the conference commented:
On May 12, the Sikorsky Challenge startup school of KPI hosted Regional Pitch Event of the Technovation Challenge, an international IT-education program for schoolgirls. Twenty-nine teams of girls aged 10-18 years from 37 cities of Ukraine presented their products – 29 mobile applications, aimed to change Ukraine. Miratech representatives were members of the judging panel.
“At such events, which Miratech regularly supports, for me personally the most weighty proof of their importance are the participants’ comments such as "as I never thought I would be engaged in IT, so now I cannot imagine how I will be able to live without IT”. This year there were a lot of such comments, and there were twice as many attendees as compared to last year. This means that the IT-community will get more talented specialists in the nearest future", – Elena Zhylich, Miratech VP, Business Development Central and Eastern Europe, a member of the international all-regions judging panel.
On May 31 Elena Zhylich was also an invited speaker at the national youth conference “My career in Ukraine”. During panel discussion “I'm not afraid of mistakes: failures, for which I am grateful” Elena shared the success story of her impressive career at Miratech from Quality Assurance team-lead in 2005 to vice-president in 2015. The story aroused great interest from the youth present at the conference.
On May 14th-15th, the State University for Telecommunication and International Telecommunication Union held the Regional conference “Digital Future that is based on 4G/5G”, where Miratech exhibited. Moreover, the company donated computers to equip the educational laboratory.
